Alfafar Association for the assistance of mentally challenged people
All along the day, we carry out activities in order to help our users develop their individual skills as much as possible. Our users enter the Centre at 10 o’clock in the morning and leave at 18 o’clock in the afternoon.
Our main areas of work are:
- Personal independence habits:
Personal hygiene, dressing, sphincter control, feeding, etc.
- Daily life skills:
Lay and clear the table, cleaning the classroom, clothes folding, etc.
- Socialization:
Greeting norms, outdoor activities assistance, message delivering inside the Centre.
- Hobbies and free time activities:
Birthday celebrations, parties, relaxing, games, having lunch at the bar, shopping, etc.
- Physiotherapy and psychomotor skills:
Manual therapy, mat exercises, mobilizations, stretching, mechanotherapy, etc. Psychomotor skills circuit (ramp, stairs, obstacles, adapted games, etc).
- Academic skills:
Practicing of school learning, reading and writing, basic concepts, social studies, language and communication, etc.
- Other workshops and activities:
Relaxing, gardening, handicrafts, Centre newspaper, Cooking workshop, swimming.
